Took a wander up to Balloch today and had a walk round the castle and estate. Sadly at present the castle's shut to the public.
| Quote: | | The castle was built as a residence in 1808 by the architect Robert Lugar at the order of John Buchanan of Ardoch, a partner in the Glasgow Ship Bank. This listed building is an early example of the Scottish baronial style popular in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The building's turrets and lancet windows are purely decorative. |

Sadly? It's a horrid building and should be left to rack and ruin!
And shouldnt these be posted in the 'loch lomond and area' thread you orginally start than creating a whole new one? _________________ Now coming at you with 95% more significance, 1% less salt and virtually fat free!
