My partner and I went to Fort William for my 26th birthday recently - well worth a visit.

Glentower Lower Observatory, Achintore Road - our guest house and a former observatory which linked with the one on the summit of Ben Nevis to produce weather reports. These would be sent by wire to London for the morning press.
