|
|
This is doing my head in.
It has now been back to Jessops twice in the short time i have had it. And replaced once !
Sometimes when i power it on it seems to lock up and wont give me access at all no LCD nothing,
If i look thru the viewfinder it just seems as though it is constantly metering and wont actually fire.
The power light stays on constant even if you turn the switch to off in fact to get it to respond you need to pop the battery out for 5-6 seconds.
Been right through the manual and it makes no mention of my woes.
I have turned off the auto sensor cleaning to see if this makes a difference but have not used it since i did this...
Help please !!! _________________ MY FLICKR

Jees, thats a shame .
I've got a Canon 350d.I don't know what exra stuff the 400 has though.
My first reaction would be to go into the menu and change all settings back to default first. ..if you can get into the menu.
Is the Compact flash card you have ok..not faulty or corrupt.?
Have you tried a different battery?
"If i look thru the viewfinder it just seems as though it is constantly metering and wont actually fire. "
Does it fire if you put it on manual focus?
Just things I'd do, another member might be able to help better Cybers _________________ Am a Wee Glasgow Bissom ye know! :)

Thanks for the quick reply guys...
Tried two other cards as that was my initial thought. Though it does it without the card in there on shoot without card setting
Need to pop the battery out just to reset the thing Stu.
E/mail sent to canon support got to thinking it might be a bad batch that jessops (Livingston) have so if it needs changed out again i think i will ask for a credit note so that i can go to Glasgow.
though tbh been trying to get it to jam up for about an hour now so i can just leave it jammed to see what it might do and guess what.... I cant replicate the f*&^%* problem .....

how long have you had it???? I'd send it back to Canon, if you can. They're usually good about replacing stuff and fast. They didn't send me a lens cap, i emailed and it arrived next day. _________________ xxx zos xxx
