Is it me?

It appears that there is an epidemic on spam affecting all sites that I visit as well as emails that I receive. I know these things tend to go in cycles and one month we can be bombarded with crap but it seems much more in your face now that ever.

I see this afternoon we have the opportunity to purchase UK Passports and last week we had the opportunity to employ a professional CV writer and the week before that an Essay writer. My work's email address (being a .org.uk) and part of the third sector is being bombarded as well with offers of pursuing debts or fixing my Microsoft Windows along with a few other shady deals.

Obvioulsy, fire walls and virus guards are updated but it seems that somewhere, someone is sitting hitting thousands of sites. Personally, I blame Trump....

If they don't get you with the spam they get you with the unsolicited phone calls, if I get another "Hi, we are calling you to bring to your attention....." I don't know what it is what they are bringing ot my attention as I have hung up by that point

I love the ones that phone supposedly from Microsoft telling me that there's a problem with my computer and I love it when I say to them, 'what computer? I don't have a computer, are you giving me a computer? Wow thanks, when you sending it to me?  There is always a stunned silence...

Or the other one that I've been getting is the 'regarding your car accident' and I usually start on a tirade about being a member of Greenpeace and cars kill and I've never driven and use a unicycle to travel everywhere.  Again it's usually stunned silence as they don't have a script for those responses.

Another great trick and I can't be arsed looking up the Tube to add to this post, but when they call, hold them on the line and pretend your investigating a homicide at the house of the person they've called - I've done that before and put the skitters right up one wee female who was daft enough to tell me where and for whom she worked for, including telephone number and address of company, which I duly passed on...

Enjoy...

Love the homicide investigation one! Must use that next time! Last "accident" one I had I strung them along asking which accident as I'd been in a few. When they narrowed it down to the last three years (d'oh) I told them I remembered that one well and that was the one that was entirely my fault and I'd not long been released from prison for it.

Funnily enough, not had an "accident" call for a while ...

This is the homicide case I was referring to and I've done it before with friends in my house and it went down a treat.

Best one I heard recently to combat the company phoning up 'regarding your accident', (an easy on to try yourself).  Just say  "Oh great, so I am due compensation as I have had an accident", the caller will be excited and ask for details.
Your reply will be:

"yes I had an accident the other day, I had a dose of the scoots and couldn't find a loo, I shat myself and totally ruined a good pair of boxers and a pair of Levi's, not to say the psychological damage of having to walk home stinking of sh!t with a big stain on my arse, so can I make a claim???

See what response that gets you!

I got rid of one of these idiots by handing the phone to my seven year old grandson and saying:-
"Theres a lady on the phone who would like to know all about the different creatures you can find on Minecraft."
I think he managed to list about twenty before she hung up.

That really boils my piss.    The amount of spam phone calls I get on my mobile is unreal. Thankfully I found an app called Mr Number which lets me block them, but I have to add them manually to the block list.

I love the ones wanting to sell me a conservatory. I invite them round to give me a quote. For some reason they never bother to climb my stairs to my top floor flat to knock the door
