hi, im trying to find a photo of the new era bar, rutherglen road ,my granpa was the landlord sometime in the 40s ,his name was tommy kelly his wife cathie,daughters ann and cathie also their son dick , found one on old glasgow pubs but it was a bus trip and you cant see the pub,or if anyone remembers it

ive tried but noone seems sure which house it is, ive been told it was next to the old stonelaw school, also been told its further up.

He lived in Buchanan Drive, before moving to 185 Stonelaw Road and then onto 17 Craigmillar Road, Battlefield.

Hi Namestain, it was Buchanan Drive in Rutherglen which is just off Stonelaw Road. It didn't give a house number unfortunately. The book I got it from is Stan and Ollie - The roots of comedy.

this will be handy to interest / bore the wife and weans with while driving home up Stonelaw Road !

interesting wee fact in itself though, 2 streets with exactly the same name within 3/4 of a mile of each other.

I wonder how often that happens in the city.
