Along from Kelvinbridge subway are what look to be the remains of one of the piers that supported the old road bridge. Does anyone know any differently?

These are the old bridges which were replaced in 1891 or so. It may have been
a support for the smaller bridge.

It's difficult to tell without a reference point from the two photographs and with the two different bridges to know if it was the old or the "new" bridge or the original bridge, but I reckon it could be from around where the arrow is.
