I was looking the other night and wondered why there isn't an Urban Glasgow facebook page?

Edinburgerland has 'Lost Edinburgh' and posts similar items to the wonderful threads on Glasgow.

We can't let the Edinburgers beat us! haha

Personally, I hate Facebook and couldn't give a monkeys about it.

In terms of UG - this is a discussion forum. What's the point spreading the
posts between here and another website?

Fair enough mate, it was just a wee query.  I love what UG is and what it does!!

I just thought that it was a good medium for allowing more people to access the world of UG and all of the information that is found within UG.  The more Glaswegians that know about UG the more people who could contribute their own stories, photos, info etc.

Cheers

a facebook page may be useful in driving people here, but it would take some work and you'd probably have to restrict the wall of the page etc...

This site performs well in Google et al so if someone was genuinely looking for Glasgow info they'd find us quite easily, a fb page may attract casual users to drop in and have a look around.

PS. did the mention in The List have any effect on user numbers?

i delete my fb account on a regular basis (sadly it looks like you can never actually leave the damn place) but i'll need to rejoin when uni starts in sept as it's the only way to keep in touch as most spend their life there.
glad to hear this place wants to be no part of it =]

Actually, what may be of more use to this site is a Twitter account. This would require a little bit of work but should be very good at driving traffic to specific areas of the site.

Saw somewhere recently that they intend joining Facebook and Twitter together - it's to be called Twitface.
