So what did Glasgow look like from the air years ago?
Well this small collection of high resolution images* will show us the dramatic changes that have taken place in post war Glasgow over the decades.
The photographs date from around c.1948 and show us just how much the city has evolved in the past 60 years.
One aspect that is prominent is just how industrialised the city was back then and the close proximity to it the population lived, worked and played.
Can you help identify the streets and locations that have vanished or do you have a particular place of interest in any of the photographs that you would like to discuss or would like us to take a closer look at, if so please use the forums below.
* The images posted here are low resolution versions to show the area of coverage. What we aim to do over time is take a closer look using the Hi-Res images at places of interest and there are lots!
Here's an example taken from the Sighthill 002 image showing the northern end of the former Buchanan Street Railway tunnel this is a 100% crop from the original.
NB:As these images are old they have a few rough edges and slight focus issues but generally much of the detail has been retained.
