I love how it comes down, then the other one is behind it. If you look away for a second you think WTF it is still there

Germiston Forge Street and Coll Street tenement demolition

Can anybody tell me when the tenements in Coll Street and Forge Street  were brought down.

Coll Street tenements

I posted a link to a video in my last post of 9 Coll place blowdown, which has a clear view of Coll Street hill (east of Mull Street) at the beginning and it looks like the tenements in that part are down (unless they had long gardens??).

Later the camera pans to the right and it looks like the tenements on the flat bit of Coll Street are still there (1992).

If anyone knows when these came down that would be fab.

Forge Street tenements:

I know the ones on the north side are down. The ones on the flat bit (west of mull street) came down before the 1970s, but I don't know when. The ones on the hill came down sometime after 1987, again I don't know exactly when.

All help appreciated thanks.

A longer and better quality QE video.

... And a failed demolition in Edinburgh.

Good find, Germistonhistory
