"A terrapin survived a terrifying ordeal after it was taped to a firework rocket and launched into the sky.
Terrapin survived firework incident
An RSPCA spokeswoman said it was the worst case of animal cruelty she had seen.
The shocking incident happened in the same week a Virgin Media Broadband advert appeared on the internet, depicting a similar act of abuse.
The RSPCA has now asked Virgin to axe the advert - which shows a lit firework being used to fire a cartoon tortoise into space, ripping off the animal's shell.
RSPCA head of external affairs David Bowles said: "We feel this advert is in extremely bad taste.
'Sadly, portraying animal abuse in this way affects how some members of the public behave towards animals.' "
Terrible, terrible, terrible , poor wee tortoise, they wull dae anythin to catch that hare!!!! ....sorry

Had em meself as a kid came home from school and was told they had gone on holiday.
Musta wont the lottery as they never came back !
