Ashley Street - Help Wanted

Hi everyone,

We are part of a community group, Flourish House, who are doing a piece of research for this year's Doors Open Weekend. We have started researching the history of the building and the architect - and wondered if anyone knew anymore about the building/street or had pictures from way back when.

This is what we have so far:

The Architect
Eric Alexander Sutherland DOB: 11th June 1870
Went to Glasgow Academy
Worked with Campbell Douglas Sellars 1888
Won a scholarship to 1892 to Glasgow School of Art
Died 9th October 1940

The Building
23-25 Ashley Street (formerly Cumberland Street West)
Build in 1924 as New City Road Congregational Church
Converted to Offices in 1949 (painter decorator)
Flourish House moved to Ashley Street in 1998

Any help would be appreciated.

Here is a photo of oor humble wee building in case anyone is familiar with it :)
