Fast Eddie

some patience with google should get you a land ranger reference you can use to find it.

Edit: sorry for not being more helpful, but I didnít know if I should say exactly where it is.

However if you sholdnt search for linn caves and shouldnt look at the Dundee university Scottish caves entry

You found them then! are they easy to get to?

Nice pics, do the caves go on very far?

Oooh, I've got to go there, I see it on the OS map on the link iiis posted Spicer.  Is it just off the footpath where the burn runs down ?
wee minx

I found the stones..but where is the cave in relation to that?

Caves

The caves are just off the Tower Road near the waterfall and they are quite substantial.

Pics of the auld wives lifts can be found at:

It really is a great place to visit. Nice bit of carving on the stone as well

I wouldn't mind a grid ref. on the 'caves' - would like to have a crawl through them. They do look like a mine rather than caves but, suspicious looking pillars (stoops) and flat roof in those photos.

Here you go my friend, directions from the roundabout at Torrance

From the roundabout, head along Balmore road and turn into Tower Road at the end of the town and follow it up the hill. The map should show you enough land features to figure out where it is.
And yes, they are mined/man made
Stuball

Just noticed google takes you another way.... still gets to the same place though
Subzero

Thanks for that Stu. I'll get there. Cheers.

Be careful, the embankment is extra slippy at this time of year. The waterfall is probably extra active too

I'll wait till times are less wet - and won't be going alone. I assume the area in question is to the east of point B ?
Stuball

No, I put the pin pretty much on top of the caves
AlanM

I hadn't realised they were so close to the road.

Did you have a look in the bunker, just along the road?
Stuball

No, I did'nt

The "Mealey Brae" is close to the Linn caves as well I think.  My mum comes from Torrance and I lived there with my granny Wylie for a while.  My mum is full of stories of Campsie Glen, the "Roman Bath" and other places where she played as a child during the war.
