Avondale

I don't know if it's a Street, Avenue, Road etc and this is second or third hand verbal info but my Grandmother was (allegedly!) in service on Avondale - the only one I can find is Avondale Street (and then one in East Kilbride.) I didn't find Avondale listed in the change of road names, so I wondered if it just disappeared under all the redevelopment.
Of course it could well be either of the two still existing, I just assumed as she was living Maryhill that it was closer to there. Also she could have lived in (I don't know either way)
Just curious if anyone had heard of an Avondale around the Maryhill area...

Thanks again

Probably a total red herring, but the tenement occupying the short stretch of PRW between Lorne St and Harvie St was originally known as Avondale Place (succeeded heading west by Nithsdale, Tulliallan and Lendel Places). They were all quite high-class tenements (still standing) and the residents may well have had live-in servants, before WW1 anyway.

Awesome info, I'll check into it.

Many thanks

I have an old b/w photo of a football team called Avondale which I could find any info on.
