Birmingham Moor Street

An absolute gem of a railway station, especially in comparison with the horror of Birmingham New Street. It closed in the 1980s and a new station was built beside it - due to a shortage of capacity the original station (which had been left to decay) was renovated and reopened in 2010.

I passed through it yesterday returning from Stratford-upon-Avon. It has been renovated in 1930s style - I took some snaps on my phone -

Simply stunning

They ferr knew how to get value for money back in the old days. very pleasing on the eye and as you say New Street is an eyesore.
