Need to get back down and up tio the castle across the dodgy bridge :)
Before that i think the last time i was in the port was 1987...

Oh an thanks to whomever fixed my link.....

Lexi

P.S.  Why do I have advertisement under my post?
Alex Glass

The adverts appear on the last post of each topic.

It is how they pay for a free site.
lexi

Hi Alex,

I understand that advertising supports the board, but I wasn't sure why it was under my post.

They were removed during the HIV/AIDS hysteria in the 80's

There's no significant health risk from them

Here's one of my all time favourite Glasgow buildings before it was demolished a couple of years ago to make way for the Glasgow Harbour development.

Meadowside Granary 2002

I wish i'd been into photography then.  missed so many buildings in Glasgow
wee minx

Stunning Fjord
Fjord

I wish I'd also paid more attention over the years and took a lot more photo's of various areas and buildings. Hopefully there's plenty of folk out there redressing the balance with what's left. cos there's always one that you've missed :
Alex Glass

Just for you Fjord. A couple old the old granary.

Fjord

Oooh! I do like them

being a self confessed Meadowside Granary spotter I'd date them circa 1962-66 as construction of the final 1968 extension hasn't been started.
Alex Glass

I have a book about the new development which has some information. I will need to look it our for you.
Stuball

The daily commuters in Glasgow central certainly did'nt expect this old beast to come thundering into platform 1 blowing its whistle and filling the air with smoke!
