Urban Glasgow inspired me to start a forum for Hawick, which was then turned into a full community group - Project Hawick. I was invited to the Campaign For Borders Rail AGM in November 2013, to discuss the impact of the Beeching Axe on the town. I turned up in a hoodie to give my talk, as my mum was ill at the time and I came straight off the bus into the meeting. Rest of the speakers were in suits!
