Botanic Gardens Station

OK it's been done to death but perhaps the last chance to see it before it gets turned into a nightclub. Planning pending

The sewer protrudes through the roof of the tunnel which you can just make out in Scallopboys pic.

What's the situation with the station/tunnel nowadays? Can you still gain entry and if so, how/where?
james73

I believe you can get in via the park tunnel entrance, but dont quote me...

Some pictures I took from my visit to the Botanics Station with my OH, 15/06/2008.

Looking into the tunnel

Looking back out from the tunnel

View of the station from the start of the platform

Looking back to where we came in

Looking along to the next set of smoke vents

Stairs on the opposite platform

Stairs on the platform we were on

Teddy bear found on the floor of the tunnel leading to the next station (Kelvinbridge)

Some interesting graffiti

Water leaking into the tunnel next to Kelvinbridge station (its a lot worse than it looks in this picture!)

Calcium carbonate (I think) formations(it was pitch black here, luckily by chance we decided to shine the torch on the wall!)

Late passenger:
Doorstop

If, like myself, you had ever worked in the subway, you wouldn't be surprised by the amount of water you see leaking in that photograph.

There are certain stretches of track on our Clockwork Orange where the pumps are constantly on overdrive to keep the water clear of the live rail.
