Craftsman in Glasgow?

Hey people!
The time has come, I am going to move to glasgow   Unfortunately, it is also the point where I have to organize my further live in Glasgow.

The good things: IŽve got a flat and even the the bureaucratic stuff is mostly done.

The bad things: My flat is a little bit "condemned"
Okay its not that hard but I think I am going to need some serious craft help. There is the kitchen that needs a new floor and my small garden that needs a complete overhaul (although I am not sure whether it makes sense in the winter   ).

Now my question:
Where can I find the best offers?Yellow Pages?Internet? Or can even someone recommend one?

Thanks for your help!

Find out where the local tradesmen buy their products and see if there's a notice board where they pin their business cards. For instance Toolstation round the corner from the Quay on Paisley rd has one filled with local tradesmen. Pretty good prices that beat the likes of B&Q if you fancy doing the work yourself.

Thanks for your reply!
My new neighbour gave me a number from a "good" craftsman - IŽll give him a call.
I added also several ads on www.myhammer.co.uk. Does anyone know the page?
I saw the television advertising yesterday, so I thought that I can try it   .

Anyone else used it?

I've used a site called Rated People to find a builder to do a loft conversion. Got 3-4 quotes from local tradesmen and the guy I got did a good job. don't forget to have a look at completed jobs that any builder your considering has done before handing over any money.
