Cumberland Lane ?

Started doing my Family tree and have found my 3 x great grandfather John Little after leaving Ireland settled in 53 Cumberland Lane and were there in 1861 census . Cant seem to place Cumberland Lane but i know theres a Cumberland Street with plenty pics of that . The family also lived at 244 Pollokshaws Road , again loads of pics of the higher numbers but none of the lower numbers closer to Gorbals Sreet, any help will be greatly appreciated .

Cumberland Lane ran off 40 Cumberland Street

Is that at the Eglinton Street end or into the centre of the Gorbals , also noted from Benny Lynch,s book he lived there too . A Ghetto within a Ghetto as you went into the Lane . Not very appealing ;-)

Near the west end of the street, running south from between Eglinton St and Abbotsford Place, passing under the railway line and coming to a dead end. It was the opening here - Forum Index -> Glasgow From The Past
