Fairfield Boys FC 1947-48

Hope I've posted this in the right area of the website.

This is a team photo from season 1947-48 of Govan's Fairfield Shipyard 'Boys' club, i.e young apprentices. I've included the reverse of the photo, which shows the line-up and league record (presumably it was a Glasgow amateur/youth league).
The team had a not bad record, finishing third in a 16-team league, behind 32nd F.Squadron A.T.C, and Mosspark Amateurs.

My father, James Campbell Letham, is in the back row, second left. His future best man, Hugh Archer, is in the front row, extreme right.

Back row (l-to-r):  Moanie (?); C.Letham; Connelly; Rice; Bainbridge; Bert Craig.
Front row (l-to-r): P.McQueen; Wm.McGregor; H.Wilson; Quinn; H.Archer.

Anyone recognise anybody?

Cracking photo. I'm sure someone on UG will be able to assist you mate. Forum Index -> Glasgow From The Past
