Garnethill new build

Some new build housing in Garnethill, overlooking St Georges rd, Woodlands rd
Not so sure this enhances the area

I've seen worse.

TBH these are just Lego houses.
Square faceless lazy designs they probably stole off the wean who built it in the livingroom out of the same coloured blocks.
Even the windows are Lego design and the architect should hang his head in shame.

Hi discominer, OK there are worse but they are a million miles away from the buildings that surround them, way too modern.
Bye for now, norrie
sputnik

i agree with the above postings but they will sell, location is a winner and they will have some great views for a city home.
norrie

Hi sputnik, I was thinking the same, there will be some great camera shots from the top flat.

When I said I've seen worse I was being just a tad sarcastic Norrie. I hate them, but not as much as I hate worse new build, like say, Glasgow harbour! I also worry about that viewpoint at the top of Garnethill now being lost to everyone except those in the new flats. Pah!
norrie

Hi discominer ah, Glasgow Harbour, the GHA are pulling down a lot of the high rise and developers build new ones, who is right?

I can only echo the above comments. They just don't fit in with the buildings that are beside them. The best I can say about them is that I've seen worse.
I went up there early last year to take a few photos from the viewpoint at the end of Hill Street and there was no access due to the buidling work. I'll take a stroll up there in due course but does anyone have any idea if this viewpoint is now a thing of the past?

Hi mahdi west, I would hope that after they are finished, all will be as before.
Was there no access on Buccleuch st?

Gone...
Entire area is a building site now ... was up there last week to do something a little bit different than the Charing Cross Mansions from the footbridge shot and was bitterly disappointed.
Still no access to Buccleuch/Renfrew St and that would be quit a scary road in winter from Hill St because of the extreme incline.
Bit of black ice and you could be doing 70 before you crashed onto the M8.
