derelictglasgow

these are a few shots from up high from st andrew house (by the concert hall) during the refurb. Not strictly from the roof, but from the top floors and with no glass yet fitted when i visited the view was crystal clear:

looking south-west, with the view along sauchiehall street

looking west towards the art school, the top of the savoy centre is in the foreground, and the half demolished art school newbury tower in the middle

Really ? Accused ?
Do we really want to go down this road with your STOLEN pictures that you never wanted to contribute for that very reason.
Sorry I asked.... ASKED you to contribute so you do not just expect to be carried through life like some sort of leech on a rope. Today it is meant as rude as it sounds.

BTW
Decent images of the signalling centre though

To show images in the forum as you have download images blocked so ironically they do not get stolen you have to either use the entire BBcode or copy the images location not the web page its embedded on and open and close the [img] tags

Oh and welcome to the forum

In all honesty, whether you tagged your last post as 'not being rude' or not, your approach did come across as being a bit of a douche. You will no doubt have a little strop over that comment, but if you feel the need to brand me as a copyright theft, then that's my returned opinion.

I had in fact already contributed before that comment, in the topic about highlighting the remains of Buchanan Station...

I would also like to point out that at no point have I 'STOLEN' pictures, I have a collection of pictures from various sources, that I spent a good deal of time tracing back to the original artist, and have been trying to seek permission to use them, however, as the photographs are quite old, it would generally imply the owners are perhaps more elderly and don't use the internet quite as much, etc and it's difficult to get hold of them. I would not in any way use them without their permission.
cybers

To be honest I really have no interest in your opinion it's yours your entitled to it as I am mine.
I get fed up with people requesting images while willing to share none. Now you have already proved you had your "own" images relevant to Glasgow and were not interested in sharing those for the common good of the forum before I made the comment. Take it whichever way you wish when I made the original comment you had contributed bugger all apart from a line of text. We always try to help out where possible with image requests but we cannot be expected to do it alone. It's why we share... The very concept you seem to be trying your best to avoid.

Have fun but please try to be a bit more open with your own images before expecting others to bail you out.

I knew it was Cranhill, as I remember the 5s pitches across the M8. I maybe thought they were named or something.

Why didn't you stick your head out of the top of the roof or even you could have climbed up to the dome where the windows are clear.

Evening Folks.

I've just signed up. I work in the St Andrew's Building (University of Glasgow) on Eldon St. I thought I'd share some pictures taken from the 6th and 7th floors towards the north.

(BTW I'm a recent arrival to Glasgow from Australia.)

I remember being stuck in traffic every night at that roundabout... i moved jobs and the next time i passed it it was the way it is now - this stage passed me by! I know the image was posted in 2013 but when was the picture taken? At a guess i would say mid 2007 - early 2008?

On flickr you must choose the BBcode option. (Choose the 800 or 1024 option)

copy and paste the code into the thread like so

Code:
[url=https://flic.kr/p/Hs9oFN][img]https://c5.staticflickr.com/8/7299/27206493596_a56efd1541_b.jpg[/img][/url][url=https://flic.kr/p/Hs9oFN]IMG_1283[/url] by [url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/g88ber/]David Laurie[/url], on Flickr

Place the cursor between the two URL headers in the BBcode
Code:
"b.jpg[/img][/url][url=https://flic."
and press enter to split them to a new line.

and click preview .... if your happy click post.
greasykitchen

Got it. Thanks! It should be all good now. Sorry about the numerous edits.
