Love the squirrel

Jester

Squirrels can make good subjects- if they'll sit long enough.

I had one sit still this morning- and my camera battery died.

Before that however I did manage to get some good shots of young foxes playing on a railway embankment, I could have watched them all morning.

Seen an arse with a four wheel drive chasing the canada geese at the side of the M8 on saturday morning ... bloody hundreds of the poor things trying to get off the ground at the same time ... still hoping to read he rolled the bloody thing and was crushed horribly...

in the leadhills last week & a poor wee bunny was trying to get across the road

there's a very tame heron in langholm
an old boy goes to the river & feeds it cat food
guess fishing stock has decreased & that's why he does it

Donna..I used to stay in Leadhills and I know for a fact that sometimes it was unavoidable. I used to centre the car so the rabbits would go between the wheels but they would sit up and that's when the exhaust pipe caught them or they would run out in front of the car. I hit a wee deer on the Menock- Wanlockhead road but it was during the winter and with my wife kids in the car a "split decision" has to be made   must admit I did bag some grouse too
dmk

i know that can be the case
mr dmk hit a deer one night on the way back to lanark
it just leaped out in front of him........ car was a right off too
he had to put the poor thing out of it's misery
it didn't end up in the boot cos he felt so guilty
but the guy that killed that wee bunny must have seen it all he needed to do was slow down & let it cross like we had done
it was just horrible to watch =[
Beano

Donna, remember your out on a day-trip the guy that ran over bugs bunny would be local and in a hurry that's country life. Did you take some photos of Leadhills.
dmk

it wasn't bugs bunny (he aint cute)......he murdered thumper ;p
guess i'm being a little over sensitive but i take your point

is the fox quite tame stairheedramy?

a spider crawled across my bed last night
there was a lot of screaming.....perhaps you heard me ???
got the shivers looking at yours btjustice
still pretty freaked at the mo ;p
cybers

Donna buy one of those insect plugs from argos 28 ... best money ever spent since i chipped my entire back garden there was spiders everywhere ... and they came inside in the winter ... not now though
stairheedramy

Donna- the fox is tame in that its not scared of humans, it treats like something to walk around- not run away from.  A neighbour was hand feeding one- but I'm not sure if its the same one.  It was the egg that surprised me- how the fox carried and buried it without breaking it is a wonder
dmk

thanks cybers
it's bloody baltic in lanark tonight & i think every insect has moved into my place
there's a daddy longlegs on the loose at the mo =[

wow amazing stairheedramy
you might be able to get some good closeups if he visits again
stairheedramy

I'm feart the bugger bites me Donna- though might try the feeding thing to get closer to it.  It looks like a terrier on steroids
dmk

omg lol
is it male or female ?
there could be lots of cute shots to be had if you guys get friendly
i use to have a badger visit my garden but never got any shots
the slightest noise & it was off =[
i had a wee family of hedgehogs living in my compost bin for a while
they were so cute shuffling about the garden & the weans loved to watch them
sadly next door's dog scared them off =[
the slug & snail community partied on that night with my garden providing the buffet

Only joking, this is what happens when you're not careful with palaside fencing! Could have been MUCH worse though taught me to treat them with much more respect
