How on earth...... do you photograph an ugly building and make it look good???
I was asked to get a good picture of the hotel for use in future publications and internet sites.
But with no suggestions on what is desired except something about blue sky (in Scotland?) I am left scratching my head on how to make the ugly less ugly!
Only thought I've had was an night shot when the building it illuminated by ground based floodlights and neons
Any suggestions? (no, I will not set fire to the building in the name of creative photography)

Seriously though get low (really low), use a wide angled lens ( as wide as you can get your hands on), and a polariser.

need to photoshop the dumping ground that was the old Chungwa picture tube co. out of that one lmao...
Night shot sounds about right or late evening for a blue sky effect as you can then make it all glitzy and glamour...
and it will show off the flames nice in case you decide to go with the fire option...
Blue skies in glasgow lol 50 years ago it would be please shoot our building through a gap in the smog...

Heres 2 I took last week...
I like the 2nd one.... maybe add a bit of colour to the sky

They're quite good, but I prefer the first one.
You should have tried with a polariser to get some definition in the sky, and cut out the reflections from the windows as they are a bit distracting.
Other than that good job.

I like the first one too.... but I was told that hotels don't generally use pictures of the place at night. Why, I don't know... some places look better lit up at night

You shoulda went back down earlier this evening when the was sun blazing in a cloudless blue sky, flat grey skies are no use if you want the place to look it's best . Then you'll be on to a winner

I know.... I did intend for a blue sky, but the weather that morning had different ideas. These arent the final production... just a guide and idea for them to see.
