ibrox/govan churchyard?

i'm just wondering if anyone has any information on the patch of grass between summertown and merryland road? you can enter it from merryland through gates with decorated with white crosses, implying it belongs to a church. the gates look quite old, was just wondering if the grassy patch was ever used for anything

Is that not the gates of the demolished St Saviours R.C ?

just found that out, built to last 20 years only? any idea why?

Think the original church was there for more than 20 years and was built from the same sandstone as the wall.

I would imagine its now a valuable piece of land. Maybe the church has forgotten it?

They might remember it when money is offered.

Reminds me of St Columbas Gaelic Free Church down the road on Briton Street. Or at least it was, but when the last owners got ahold of it, it was after it had been left to rot and they couldn't afford restoration, so sold the ground and away went the church.
