Introducing the Urban Glasgow Collection

Welcome to the Urban Glasgow Collection

Welcome to a unique and seldom seen collection of archive pictures of Glasgow through the decades.

The collection covers a wide variety of subjects from postwar aerial images to buildings and houses new and old. There are also street scenes and architectural models commissioned during Glasgow's various stages of regeneration and development of the 20th century.

The collection has been brought about thanks to friends of Urban Glasgow who allowed us exclusive access to images held within their collection.

We hope to be able to add more later and hope you enjoy making use of the Urban Glasgow Collection.

There are a wide range of photographs that hopefully will generate a number of projects that can be posted here on Urban Glasgow. We would ask that any contributor to projects agree to share their own copyright so that no photographs disappear once they have formed part of a project. As I am sure you will appreciate photographs that form part of the Urban Glasgow Collection have been provided to us in good faith and we hope that you will respect the privilege that has been given to us in being able to make these photographs available here.

Many people have been responsible for bringing about the Urban Glasgow Collection. We do not wish to name individuals, you know who you are, we thank you for the support and hard work that has gone into preparing the photographs for presentation here for the first time on Urban Glasgow.

Lets make the most of the many opportunities that are here through the Urban Glasgow Collection.

Contributing to the Urban Glasgow Collection

Higher resolution pictures are available to those who wish to contribute. All we ask is that you provide Urban Glasgow with high resolution pictures taken by you for use as part of the collection and that you agree that Urban Glasgow can use these images freely.

Urban Glasgow does not own the images shown in the collection but has been entrusted by the rightful owners with using the images to provide something positive from this collaboration - in this case, The Urban Glasgow Collection.

And finally to keep the threads running smoothly for all to enjoy could you please keep all replies on topic within the forums as any off topic clutter will be removed.

Thank you.

Urban Glasgow.
