Hello chris,
I'm jimmy Warren's son. Can I ask you what your dads name was?
Funnily enough I was telling my wife and kids of the many happy holidays spent in rothesay. One summer sticks out when my Dad did the summer season at the winter gardens. I would love to hear from you and to hear any memories you might have of that era. Regards, Sandy Warren

Hi Reachforthesky Jimmy Warren I remember a Glasgow comedian from the 60s who went by that name, was that your father?

Yes Norrie, he was quite prominent in the theatre and club scene throughout the 1960s

Hi Reachforthesky, I thought it was the same guy, he was the comedian at a stag doo I was at, funny man

Norrie, it's great that he is still remembered. In fact just recently I was doing a gig in a hotel and I was doing the usual holidaymaker stuff, where are you from etc etc when someone in the audience shouted out " I'm from Glasgow and you're jimmy warrens son" well I nearly keeled over! To have him still remembered when he died so long ago is a great compliment

Hi Reachforthe sky, I remember your fathers death from the papers, he wasnt that old
Reachforthesky

he was 50 which was young although I was only 11 so it didn't really seem that young as a boy.but of course growing up and now past that age myself he was indeed far too young.
