Lincoln Racecourse

Stopped here last Sunday on my way to Market Rasen. The last meeting was in Spring 1964, but the grandstand (built in 1897 and now a Grade II listed building) remains, looking out onto what used to be the racecourse. The 'Lincoln', of course, is now run at Doncaster.

The course is still easily distinguishable (Lincoln Cathedral in the distance) -

The numbers board (below) - the A57 runs between the grandstand and what was the racecourse - it was closed when racing was taking place and the BBC used it to follow races in its camera vans.
