And he might've gotten away with it if it hadn't been for those meddling kids.

Why haven't they cleared the site yet? Surely they could sell off most of those rides?
Jagz1876

Having taken my kids there when they were young, it is very sad to see perfectly good rides going to rack and ruin.

Even if there is no one interested in buying them at the moment surely they could be dismantled and stored until a buyer is found.

Think the idea is it will be open again... personally cant see it as it was in the wrong place ... Cathkin Braes and it had a chance

Surprised the scoundrels have not stolen it all for scrap yet.
Delmont St Xavier

It was a good place and I don't think the location was the issue but the marketing amongst various other things.

My eldest daughter, 6 had her birthday day outings to it, as it was always so easy to get around the place and there was nothing too distressing for the kids.  Happy memories of the place, especially the day the pig escaped from the animal enclosure and my mother in law about had a fit...

Save the pig, is my view!

There are still plenty of rides up there....

You can just about see my house in one of them pics. Word on the street is that it may end up being sold off and turned into a caravan site.
Delmont St Xavier

It would be a great place for the Camping and Caravan Club to take over but I would see some private company doing that instead and cramming 'statics' all over with little space between.  It would be like a Haven Holiday Village  without the seaside....

i used to take youth groups to it, they where losing a lot of money, running on minimal staff at the end. Also offerering discounts of up to 70% if you could bring a group of more than 10. I heard theres a bit of a legal thing going on with debts owed by the company. Which may be why everything is still there. It's a shame because it was a lot better than M&D's in my opinion, who treat their customers like dirt and adhere to bare minimal safety standards.

Nice to see some pics og the castle itself by the way.

Mr net - if you aint been already (your post was nearly a year ago) the doo go its an amazing site.  I wandered about for a while in awe and wonder.  It does seem amazing that rides such as the log flume havent been sold as they were portable rides that were plonked down there and not permanent things.  Can I have the chairaplane thing for keeps -  it was cool to see inside the big dome thing....

Mr Sam

Have a few days off so I might have a wee lookey.

I had a meeting with Mr Bembom a few months ago, the guy that owns it. to see about running a scare attraction there. After the fatality, He lost heart in the business and wants to sell. he said to me, that he is basically open to offers for the park and after its sold he is moving back to the Netherlands to live.
last i heard some golf company where interested.

Had a wee wander about the other day, I was in two minutes and an old guy in a van turned up and told me to GTF.
Managed to get him chatting and he turns out to be the owners father in law. Says they are awaiting planning permission for a golf course and hotel. He still seems confident that this will go ahead.
He also told me that the owner hires out the rides and the water flume had just returned from Romania.
Told him I was just there to take some pics as we had lots of memories of the park which I think he appreciated as he let me stay for about 30 minutes to take some pics.
