I cant find much Info on Milkbank   De roofed int 60s not demolished as most records would have you believe.

in its hay day

You'd be forgiven now for walking past the site and not even knowing what's there especially in the height of summer.

A quick scuff with the boot revealed a partially hidden mosaic floor, the irony that the design was a thistle was not lost on me they are growing all over this place

Just for the record mate you should include the location which would be Lockerbie in the title it just stops people having to ask the awkward question of where

When i was down there it was a veritable marshland not the kinda footfall for training shoes ...

It is the arse end of nowhere isn't it   Its Kettleholm near Lockerbie I'll update the title   yes even in the summer it was very soft underfoot, my boots and car were a mess

On a side not my stepfather was working in the area years back with the digger and was told under no circumstances to dig in certain areas ( I can't see him just going round randomly digging holes anyway!!) on account of mass graves from plague victims near the town

I know. Slightly off topic, but did you know some of the first people to arrive at the scene of the Lockerbie Bombing in 1988 were Hawick firefighters and ambulance crews? Still haunts people in the community after all those years...
