Milton Primary School

Hi, I loved the photos of Milton Primary, my first primary school, I stayed at 41 Dunblane Street from my birth in 1953 until 1962 when we moved to Drumchapel. Many happy memories of living there including rafting on old doors at the back of the tenements across from the school gates, even though the flood water was a mucky green colour. One unhappy memory was the dampness on the stairs in the school corridors. I remember jumping down the stairs and slipping right into the tiled wall breaking my front right tooth in half losing the bottom half. I lived with that for 40 years before finally getting it sorted. I still remember winning my first prize at school, an Andy Pandy make things book. Fond memories indeed.

I attended Milton Street Primary from 1964 till 1967 when we moved to Ruchazie.

Have a few memories of the school particularly how the playground was spit between boys and girls. Forum Index -> Glasgow From The Past
