I lived in Glasgow in the seventies and I remember Lauders well - in act I was barred from there for some reason for a while while I worked next door in the Pavilion Theatre. Atholl Arms was the other local at the time and I see it has not changed much. I remember Curlers in Byres Road - it sucked as far as I was concerned, but it was often busy. There was a dive kind of a bar behind the Citz in Gorbals we used to go to, but I forget the name. It was in an old tenement. Later on, I even designed a couple of pubs...The Granary in Pollokshaws Road was one and the other was Smiths (now Vronis) in West Nile Street. I think...Neither has changed much since then.
