Wonder if anyone can shed any light on this..
My brother in law buys and sell antiques and is always coming up with old books from the late 18th century about Glasgow.
He recently bought an old trunk and found this in the bottom of it.

Its really old and yellowed and is about 500mm x 300 mm (20"x12")

I could be way out but is that maybe The Great Exhibition from the early 1900's ?

That looks spot on troops....never even knew about that exhibition...
He gave me this old book which was published in 1880..if its interesting i will offer it round.
Have asked him to keep his eyes out for any old photos as a lot of the stuff he gets comes as job lots

katimac

There are some pictures of The Great Exhibition in one of the corridors at my work, I'll see if I can take pics of them tomorrow.

That looks like a really interesting book Kev!

The Grand white building was temporary and stretched from where the bowling green beside the art gallery to around Derby St. The only images I've seen of it before were from around where the kiddies playpark is.

My Nephew stays in Upmister and cant count and he is 12 years old.

English schooling is rubbish.

Its not wrong and niether is it a fail.... Most rotarian clubs have the 7 after the 8 as most of the minute meetings start at 7 and last one hour so the reality is its counting down for that one hour of the day.

Took a toddle over to Boness today for no particular reason other than its there .... Museum is closed for the season but work was still going on.... They had a big diesel near the fence idling when i went along the river path and was gone about an hour and on my return to the car park i stumble upon this boy polishing his helmet to the big Choo-Choo... I had a small lens on and he noticed me before running off... Goddam AF beep travels further than i thought lol
