That's a good idea Minxy, I was rather unsure of where to place it but your suggestion makes sense. Mods?

Thanks alma, if you look at this picture you can just make out the cross on the left at the side of the road. It was moved when cars became more popular to stop any possible accidents.

Superb piece of work, well done. I wonder if 'Lady M' is a member of the Manning family.

I'm not actually sure but it's possible I suppose? I DO know that Kings Cafe became a dry cleaners and is now a cafe again and S Mannings became a jewellers and is now a ladies outfitters again.

For me, the saddest comparison here is the Craigendoran Pier one, a once bustling place now in ruins.

Brilliant work Cheesy

Cheesy ,

Your great pictures brought back some very fond memories of the Helensburgh Beach area I remember as a kid in the late 1950's.

Ta mate, for that special treat !

Fantastic work Cheezy. To think when we spoke you said you weren't that good at taking photos. This collection certainly puts that one to bed finally.

Well done with all your work getting these photos.

AG, thank you but I really am pants at phoaties! I do think I'm not bad at lining up the past/presents but that's as far as my photography talents goes.
