Pictures of Glasgow - Altered ImagesI think some people here enjoy altering their photos for a different kind of creative look (more that purely fixes on contrast, saturation and brightness etc)..so maybe a thread dedicated to this kind of thing would be a good idea. Another thread could be started for photo manipulation of other general subjects.

Very similar outcomes to two different images images and I have to say "OOOoooohh!! Me Likey!!"
How did you do that Minxy?
|
wee minx
|
Well Doorstop......
Photoshop
1 - Duplicate the main layer
2 - Image ..Adjust...Desaturate
3 - Duplicate the desaturated layer
4 - Image ..adjust..Invert
5 - Change blending mode to colour dodge ( might look like a blank layer..but thats ok)
6 - Filter ..Gaussian blur and adjust radius to suit your taste
taa raa
Any probs PM me and I'll talk you through it...incase I missed something there

I reckon the wall is the old Barrs factory. We had a big debate about this and came to the conclusion that it was Malcolm Street just off Springfield Road. I will look out the old maps etc and confirm later.
Cheers.
I love the detail of the prams left against the wall to get the sun and to allow the mums to keep an eye on them.
This is a little slice of Glasgow social history.

I don't really indulge in much extreme image manipulation ... but did produce this while doing some bored tinkering a few months ago:

Thank you LG, LL and Doorstop
Oh jings...well..fcukin used photoshop for a start
Made a new layer - black and white
Selected the windows gave them their own layer, and gave them a zoom motion blur,
Selected the middle window and gave it a greyscale zoom blur much bigger than the other two,
and changed the blending modes of each layer to soft light...ah think.
..and gave the two wee side windows up there a bit more light on them
I think I gave it a reflected black to see-through gradient just above the base layer.
But mostly trial and error..with more error.
I knew what I wanted so just kept at it, and I was keen since it is a church in Govan, where I stayed as a wee girl.
