Stumbled across this, I thought the building in question was earmarked for demo. judging by most the retail units being boarded up under it. No doubt they will do something funky with it when they refit it.

New Premier Inn for Glasgow 'creates 50 jobs'

The new hotel will be built on Glasgow's West Nile Street
The UK's largest hotel and restaurant group, Whitbread, has announced that Glasgow is to get another Premier Inn.
Whitbread, along with the financial firm, ING, has acquired an empty office block in the centre of the city.
The 10m investment will turn the building into a 210-bedroom hotel creating 50 jobs.
Whitbread currently has plans for nine new hotels for Scotland, representing investment of 43m and creating around 420 jobs.
The nine hotels will be opening on a phased basis from Autumn 2010 until Spring 2012.
John Bates, the company's head of acquisitions, said: "We have identified significant opportunities to bring the quality and value of the Premier Inn proposition to a number of new target locations across Scotland.
"This latest investment is an essential part of that programme."
