Must have been a fair thud to get the 4x4 on its side.

The transit has a fair dunt as well.

Hope no one injured badly.
fastnet

Well done the roving reporter.

Looked a bad one mate,  also a cleansing department truck involved in the accident.
Delmont St Xavier

It's a lot easier than you think to topple a 4x4...

Gravity, centre - etc, etc.  I've seen folks driving 4x4's and not realising how easy they are at taking off, especially going round bends...
sputnik

well done on the pics, hope you sold them on.

I could stick it to the side of the van and call it a conservatory.

Seen it at lunchtime today and walked passed first but it was still there when I was heading back so just had to take a photo

The mazdas reg looks like a free phone number for a claim company... irony
ChasR

Took some photographs of an accident and I keep meaning to put them onto disc and hand in to the Fire services as the whole operation was carried out very efficiently

Wish this was true lol
Since moving to Police Scotland I have seen them employ all sorts of dirty tricks from standing in bus shelters, standing mid bend, No hi-vis, no hats, car hidden and the ultimate in evil an unmarked camera can stuck across a motorway flyover. Camera vans I agree with but motorways are just cash generation on the scale of fishing with dynamite.

Stick it where it should be outside a fackin school or in an urban area the reality is its serving no purpose on the motorway as its not a deterrent and the attitude is generally fuckit they canny chase me and I'm caught now so keep going.

The bus shelter trick has been around for a while, they do it across the road from me on Great Western Rd.
One I'd seen before when they couldn't stick the car round the corner was to pop the boot open to make it less obviously a police car and they could also use it as an aggravating factor, eg someone changing a wheel on roadside, particularly in low light.
BTJustice

Close call this morning for a Micra driver;

Micra mishap by route9autos.co.uk, on Flickr

Both front wheels were over the wall when it crashed, this is after the fire engine had pulled it backwards.

Probably set the sat-nav to "car wash" lucky escape though those railings don't look too sturdy ...
norrie

Looks like it Norrie - they're no ma photos
BTJustice

Aye Norrie, old castle road.

This is a pic my Dad took on his phone just after it happened and you can see just how close the car came to ending up in the drink;

SHE!!!!! was lucky.

Local rumour has it that it was a mechanic bringing the car back from an MOT.

One assumes it failed?

Well if it hadn't BEFORE it nearly went for a bath then it certainly had afterwards
BTJustice

I would imagine it will now be written off.

The crash damage didnt look bad but as soon as you lift a car with a strop through the doors it damages it beyond economical repair.
norrie

Hi Bt Justice, ouch, that is going to cost somebody a bit of money
Fjord

I,m more concerned for the old railings I've always liked that airy Victorian-esque view of the the river and railway bridges which has been like that since ...well, always.
The HSE bods will have that ripped out and walled in galvanised crash barriers any day now.

Could this be one of the problems with having 4 alternating lanes of traffic? People look both ways to cross the road without looking the 3rd and 4th.

Either way, hope they're OK
