hey

this thread is great, and great photos.

We were at the new transport museum the other day, and we were wondering what this building was and why it was lying derelict.

so...anyone know what this building was? how long it has been empty? and why it is empty?

thanks

paul

Did you read my post up there?

Went past today and the roof has fallen in. A Nixon van nearby and a crane, I'd be willing to bet the last old building on the far side of the expressway is not long for this world. :(

It'll be another site for a huge supermarket and Luxury Student Accommodation™ by this time next year, once this gets demolished. Why it couldn't have been saved years ago is beyond me.

Sorry for the picture quality, only had my old phone on me.

Cant see it lasting much longer myself.. Oh and never be sorry or apologise for image quality... a photo is a photo and was recorded just the same.

Aye. Half tempted to write to the cooncil and ask whether there's any hope it can be preserved, but I can almost hear the laughter now. :(

i don't know if there is a bit of fire damage there as well, as way back in Oct 2010 we found that some folk had been lighting a fire (ironically in a fireplace) in the ground floor room directly under that section of roof. It's been a while since i did this, but I hopefully have linked to a photo of it.

Scotway House is well alight at the moment

It's a week early. These are usually saved for a bank holiday weekend
