SPT introduces Glasgow's first Subway Festival, 10-13 April

SPT introduces Glasgow's first Subway Festival

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) has joined forces with leading Glasgow
marketing company DADA to introduce the UK’s first ever underground Festival.

The unique ‘Glasgow Subway Festival’ runs over four days from Thursday, 10
April to Sunday, 13 April. It will involve an array of exciting and fun events,
performances and fantastic competitions and will highlight just how quick, easy,
enjoyable and cost effective it is to reach any of Glasgow’s great parks, museums,
art galleries, cinemas, restaurants and bars just by hopping on the Subway.
The Subway Festival will also remind families what a fun day out they can have
using public transport to get around the city.

Sounds interesting.... but with their current no-photos policy, seems a bit pointless

Then you might just be the first person I have ever come across who actually gives a rat's arse about this policy!

Now, seriously, last time they walked up to me when I took a photo upstairs at Buchanan Street they said "no flash photography downstairs, this could destract the drivers". No flash, no problem, no ?

I generally don't abide by rules myself... I'm just referring to a couple of high profile cases reported recently of people taking photographs in stations and running away

4 guys were photographing Cathcart station (a major terrorist target of course) and ran away when challanged
1 guy was observed photographing St Georges Cross underground station and 2 observed photographing St Enochs
(latter 2 just happened to be spotted by Sun reports!)

Ibrox underground no longer has a bin outside the door... supposedly removed as a counter terrorism strategy

Thanks Stu. I guess we will all need to learn a proper Swedish or Austrian accent then, helps one to get away with anything!

Anyone made plans to go there yet? Well I'll be hovering around Kinning Park in the early hours and the Westend later when it's time for cocktails
Hope to see one of you guys.

Pre-Cocktail time of course

I want to see the falcons between one and four pm
And the duellists start every half hour from 2:30.
But they're also on tomorrow so now I'm confused. I'll pm you.
