The 78Been to "The 78" on Kelvinhaugh Road recently and just have to say that it is a very lovely place.
It's where Stereo used to be and still owned by the same Mono folks. The interior is lovely with old 78s on a shelf and even a "his master's voice" beside an oldfashioned lamp.
There's also a few tables outside for the warmer days.
I loved the Music ( Arcade Fire and The Cure, also a band I had never heard of, called Moldy Peaches :o), the girls that served me were just darlings, and best of all:
Their selection of bottled organic cider and even their drought was one of the nicest ones I ever had.
They also have interesting organic Scottish Ales and all inn all I am sure I will be back to try their Falafels and Chili.

Possible venue for a drinks night? As long as it's not £4.50 a pint...

Not sure about their drought prices but the bottles of organic ale are 3.70.
Which is actually not that bad. I hope ?

All I ever read here is moans and groans about prices in the pubs..`Urban Glasgow`....How Urban are we ?
Just a suggestion....Lets go to ASDA and get a few cases of Tennent`s and stop off at an Offie for a few bottles of Buckie and head for the Govan Graving Yards and sit with the troops

That sounds better than £3.70 a pint to me - I didn't realise I was living in London...

... so much for supporting small Scottish businesses, like organic ale manufacturers.
By the way, Arran Beers have gone into administration.

Ok, been there a few times now, and here are some pictures from a few weeks ago - including price lists
It was a sunny Afternoon so everyone was outside.
Please note my Austrian Red Riding Hood bike basket at the bar
And my favourite corner, some quite interesting old stuff on the shelves there.
Most importantly: The Bar Price list ...
.. and all the vegan food anyone could ask for!
PS: I heard a rumor that a certain admin likes this place
