The "Clockwork Orange" is no more...
Out with the old . . . in with the blue
The Glasgow Subway is getting a colourful £1.7million facelift - and it could
earn the city a gold in the race to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Out goes the bold orange which has been a feature of the underground for
the last 30 years.
And in comes a new eyecatching scheme of carmine and cream on the inside - and
bright blue on the outside.
The colour change for the Subway carriages signals an end to the famous nickname
for the city's underground system, the Clockwork Orange.
The first of the new-look fleet, which bosses say will provide extra comfort
for passengers, were unveiled yesterday as they took to the tracks...

Aye, I wiz never done calling it "The Clockwork Orange..."

I dont like it I think it may well clash with my aubergine crimpoline suit with resplendant manbag Cyril...
Orange paint must have gone up in price for the muppets to consider this....

Isn't the slightly duller brown and cream not a scheme of one of the old Scottish railway companies prior to the government inspired 1922 amalgamation? It's not very inspiring and the orange was a lot blighter. Mind you I never heard the clockwork orange thing ever mentioned by anyone I knew regarding the subway. The PTE granted trains in the same livery are equally dull at least the Scottish 1st colour scheme is attractive?

Are you by any chance thinking of this?
GWR coaching livery from pre grouping days. I'm not aware of any Scottish Companies which used brown and cream but there may well have been.

Ok, a new nickname for our underground is in order then, I guess?
