The Tea & Scones St Peters trip - Sunday 30th March

Not exactly in Glasgow, but it's getting spring time soon and all the wee farm animals will be out and about. What a lovely way to end your trip to Cardross or take the sprogs for a day out to stroke the baby sheep.

http://www.ardardan.co.uk/

As you can see they have a tearoom there, sometimes when it's busy you have to put your name down and take a wander around the massive farm shop or garden nursery while you wait, but it is well worth it. Wholesome soups and innovative sandwiches, and amazing home bakery, too.

zolita1908

you should get their eggs,  really really nice, if a bit pricey.  and the frozen bit is good, best frozen summer fruits ever
Fjord

I've been a couple of times well worth a visit just for the grub alone. Although they were sold out of weeping willows in the garden centre
zolita1908

Just make sure you don't go on a Monday, that's their day off.  So you'll not get far!

I think a UG visit is in order those scones were the size of curling stones and the clotted cream is well worth risking heart disease.

Tart.
Hugo Drax

Who's been talking?
zolita1908

just make sure it's after i get back from home, so after the 19th!
Fjord

How about waiting until a Sunday in April when the lambs should be making an appearance. Plus it gives us time to arrange the transport for those that need it
poodiecat

Yay!
Will this include a trip to St Peters, or a walk around the peninsula ( should the weather allow ) ?
Fjord

Make a day of it and do the lot
poodiecat

As long as we're early enough to eat all their scones, wouldn't want all the other people do that
zolita1908

Well i've got room for 4 passengers, can pick up in Glasgow on my way through.
ex-tobester

The way the weathers maybe gonna be over the next few weeks, best to wait till april/may.

If it stays like this then youll probably need waterwings, was out cardross way today on the train and the wind/rain was howling.
Fjord

Cheers Zos that's much appreciated
I'll pick up Ronnie and Poodiecat so there's room for one more in my car.

How does Sunday 30th March suit everyone?
I forgot that Easter is earlier this year Sun 23rd so we should avoid all the weekenders scoffing all the scones :-)

All seats are gone in my wee motor I'm afraid. So far i've got Poodiecat & special guest plus Ronnie.

I'm just waiting for Ronnie to confirm that the date is ok for him though.
poodiecat

There's no alcohol served at the tea rooms by the way, but if it's a cold wet weekend I shall bring some of my special austrian rum tea thingie to heat us up. Fancy taking spooky b/w double exposures, so anyone fancies to dress up, it'd be very much appreciated.
zolita1908

Room in with me John,  promise I will behave meself.

There's a pub in Cardross, with a log fire if ya get cold.
