Former Tubular Scaffolding/Industrial Services Ltd buildings on Duke Street near to the Parkhead Forge, disused since 2009. What remains 24/02/2012;

Aye, Tubular Scaffolding were founded around 1929 and were the oldest scaffold company in Glasgow, run by the Cole-Hamilton family. They traded up until a couple of years ago, and were bought out by a firm from Cleland.

I visited their offices on a number of occasions and it was a wee bit of a time warp. Sad to see the demise of another old Glasgow firm.

Some very hardy bastards worked for them early 80's late 80's.i remember one job in particular they crucified a wee guy from Roystonhill naked on the scaffold middle of Sauchiehall Street.All for having the temerity of not supporting the right team........Don't panic btw it wasn't the full bhoona crucifixion  it was scaffold clips not nails.
