Obviously there should still be a couple of hidden bits
Alex perhaps your PC is set to log in automaticly, as is mine. But i'm thinking more about potential members who are in two minds about joining because they can't see what it's all about.

Let them have a wee bit to get them interested, and put a sticky in a bit that non members can read....saying that there are many more topics of interest for those registering....or even a topic called "If you register"..and list some of the other forum and topic headings.

letting them have general chat area is usually a good idea let them see there is other areas but have a restricted area warning for member only if they click it...
Worked at an other place i modded "dangle a carrot" it was refferred to...
get them interested with a taster...
