Work to start on 65m Glasgow office development

Work to start on 65m Glasgow office development ( BBC)

Work is about to start on a 65m speculative office development in Glasgow city centre, more than
a year after it secured planning permission.

Developer Abstract (Glasgow) Ltd said on-site works would start within the next few days after it completed
the purchase of 303 St Vincent Place. Planning permission for the development, known as St Vincent Plaza,
was granted in February last year.

Abstract said the development would create 250 new construction jobs.

The building will be able to accommodate about 2,000 staff when it completes in early 2015. St Vincent
Plaza will offer 12 floors, along with 78 car parking spaces.

Mark Glatman, chief executive of the Abstract group of companies, said: "We are delighted to confirm our
move to start construction. We have been working hard over recent months to finalise various complex
agreements to enable this work to commence and we are very pleased to be able to now move forward
without any further delay."

The development has been designed by Glasgow-based Keppie Design.

Construction work will be carried out by contractor Bowmer & Kirkland.

Hi james, where exactly is this proposed development going to be?
Surely not between Queen st and Buchanan st?

I see what you mean. It says "303 St Vincent Place" when clearly it should
say 303 St Vincent Street.

Hi james 73, ok, now I am wondering what spare ground is there or is something coming down to make room?

its going to be in the car park area of the current Santander building.
