The really spooky thing is....my 78 year old maw got a refurbed laptop last Friday after attending a local community computer course for the old yins.  I still can't believe she's going online.  She can't get further than youtube at the moment though!

Wee guy across the road from me got his first computer the other day at 70 to keep in contact with his family in the States and Canada though his exact words were ...
"A ouija board would have been better and easier to use" set up skype for him and now he is over the moon with seeing his grandkids online though he did forget about the time difference and woke them all up with a skype call at 3am their time

Fantastic first post and subsequent responses. I'm new to this site and still navigating my way round,

I come from Toryglen and was schooled in Langside (opposite the Vicky known as The Grange) and am finding this thread very interesting and look forward to reading more. Pity I can't see the maps.
