Does anybody remember the bar across the road from this between Market St and Tobago Street? My dad and my uncles used to drink in it. I think the block was flattened in the early 70's.

It was next to a bookies and a barber shop where my brothers used to be sat on a wooden shelf across the arms of the chair to get their haircut!

Has anyone noticed several old empty disused pubs were painted completely black by the council? I think in an attempt to hide them for the games but I could be wrong.
