This will only be understood by those of a certain age.
When we stood in a queue to get into the cinema and although the picture was halfway through we went in and sat through it until the end. We then watched the start of the film and left when it came to the part where we came in.
We had no option. The cinemas were busy then and no multiplexes in those days. If you didn't get in at the start you had to do that or you didn't see the movie.
It sounds crazy and it was.

Or if yi really liked it you sat and watched it twice and no one batted an eye as though this was perfectly normal. now they are rounding yi up like sheep.
