I used to go there as a wee girl, it was nice to go back, more to photograph than I thought

Wish I'd got it flying towards me

The whole bunch

Great Pics WM

I keep meaning to take a walk up there with a camera.

I will post up some information on the plans for the Dams.

By the way from the Pollok side they are known as Darnley Dams.

Depends on where you want to go. The Dams are at the back and it is easier to get to them from Aurs Road, Barrhead.

By car M77 to Newton Mearns as you come off take a right and head for Barrhead.

Don't know if it is the Neilston train from Central that stops at Patterton Station.

If you are up for a walk you could make your way to Nitshill Road and use the path from the Ashoka at the Mill.

M77 to Arden cut off and turn right onto Nitshill Road past Sainsbury's to Ashoka. Good parking facilities.

Barrhead Train from Central to Nitshill on Nitshill Road turn right and past the Gala Bingo to Ashoka.

I parked on the wee back road, there's a few layby type thingies, usually guys park there when going to fish.
There is quite a bit of wild life around, I'm sure I saw an otter or a stoat(not quick enough with the camera ). There was more i could have seen, but it was very remote, felt a wee bit spooky on my own.

As Vice Chair of the Dams to Darnley Country Park. I would encourage everyone to visit the dams. Some improvement works have been carried out and more is planned for this year.

I am trying to encourage better access to information about the CP through a website and leaflets about the annual report of the Joint Committee between Glasgow and East Renfrewshire Council.

The road you refer to WM is Aurs Road and it is one of the few parking areas near the CP.
