This old building is going too be demolished for the Commonwealth Games
and made into a carpark.

This one on Fielden street will be refurbished for the athletes.

I've just registered with this wonderful site and thought i'd post a couple of pics as way of saying hello.

I've lived in Glasgow for 12 years now, and have become increasingly interested in its urban history, what buildings are standing now on old ones that are no longer there.  I'm glad sites like this exist, partly as an education, it is easy to accept that the present is all, without any respect to the past.

The pictures were taken on 17th June 2007, as i'm sure a few of you know, its a bit rickety to get to the top, and a hell of a lot of stairs, but is certainly worth the effort.

Thanks, Mat.

I love the lean on this memorial....
The amount of comments i have seen on flickr about the photographer should have straightened it....
The council would love that.... would save them a packet.

Nice set of almost ariel images gittus.
